Dr. J's Jazz Emporium

Dr. J's Jazz Emporium, created and hosted by Dr. Judith Schlesinger, is an hour-long radio show that celebrates jazz and the people who make it. Dr. J. has been writing reviews, interviews, and columns for AAJ since 2002, and is delighted to offer such free publicity to her musician friends. Each show has one musical guest: we play some of his/her music music, and have a relaxed, informal discussion of their careers and dreams, or whatever else happens to come up.

Dr. J's Jazz Emporium is broadcast live on public station WPWL 103.7 in Pawling, New York, on alternate Wednesday nights from 7 to 8 pm EST, as well as streaming on pawlingpublicradio.com. It is then repeated four times: the next two Thursday mornings at 11 am, and the next two Sunday mornings at 9:30 am. It's also archived here at AAJ. In brief, it's a whopping big (and free!) opportunity for artists to get themselves and their latest product out there.

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
