About The Joy Falcey Trio:
Drummer Joe Falcey, a N.J. native, has been performing music in the US and internationally for the last 18 years. He holds a degree in Music from Kean University where he studied performance, composition, and music education. He has also studied privately under master drummers Tony DeNicola,(Harry James) Joe Morello (Dave Brubeck), and Ari Hoenig (Kenny Werner, Joe Lovano, & Mike Stern). He has maintained busy performance schedule as both a leader and a sideman, along with full time teaching schedule as half owner of Smith’s Music Studios in Ewing Twp., where he works as a private instructor on both drum set and piano. He currently holds the drum chair in the original project, Ocean Exposition, and continues to perform as a sideman, covering a wide range of musical forms and styles. Over the years he has shared the stage with Glenn McClelland (Blood Sweat & Tears & Ween), Pete Kuzma (Jill Scott), Richie Cole, Eric Alexander, Tom Passerella, John Swana, Bootsie Barns, Duane Eubanks, and hall of fame keyboardist Bernie Worrell (Parliament, Talking Heads). He currently resides in Trenton, N.J.

Pianist Joe Ashlar has been performing music professionally around the US and internationally since the age of ten. In 2001 he founded and led the group Grandfather Ridiculous. While performing with them until 2003 they were privileged to share the stage with artists such as Trey Anastasio (of Phish), Bobby McFerrin, Billy Martin (of Medeski, Martin, and Wood), The Spinners, Rebirth Brass Band, and The New Deal, to name a few. Now he works as bandleader of groups of a variety of formats and styles, and as a sideman has performed and recorded with many notable musicians. A short list includes: Wynton Marsalis, Norah Jones, Chuck Loeb, DJ Logic, Roy Hargrove, Candiria, Fabio Morgera, and Lou Soloff (of Blood Sweat, and Tears) His music has been featured on national television on CBS, BET on Jazz, and MTV. Joe made his debut as film composer in Brian Berkowitz's first film Secret Transit Codes He currently resides in Brooklyn, NY and continues to perform and teach privately.
Bassist Michael Taylor has been a luminary of the Philadelphia New Music and Jazz scene for the past 8 years. He has performed with many groups as both a leader as well as a sideman. He co-led the Taylor/Madof group, which was at the forefront of the New Music effort during the late nineties, appearing in the Mellon Jazz Festival, Rehoboth Beach Jazz Fest and the Clifford Brown Jazz Fest. Taylor also started the groups FreeBass, an all bass ensemble and Snap Judgment, an improvised music group. As a sideman, Taylor has performed with many top musicians including Tom Lawton, Sid Simmons, Steve Giordano, Matt Davis, the Chance Trio and Victor North to name a few. As a graduate of the Temple University Music program, he continues to perform with many musicians that traverse the musical landscape of everything from Duke Ellington to Dr. Dre to original compositions.
Chakra Restaurant features an inviting menu focused on New American cuisine with European and Asian influences.
